MTV Shuga Naija: Episode 5 Recap

I wasn’t ready for Episode 5. Guys, I’m still shook!

This episode started with Ebisinde, Wasiu and Shina spending all the money they got from stealing car parts. Did you see their shiny shoes? These boys are having the time of their lives! This new found wealth has given them some major confidence! Just look at how Ebisinde walked up to the almighty Diana (his crush!) without fear, wow! Don’t get carried away though, money never comes that easy. Why do I have a strong feeling that they are going to get into major trouble soon?  

As always, Corper Yasmin never fails to blow our minds. What a woman! She found a way to make the students put their punishment time to good use and also stopped a fight in the best way possible. She showed both parties how they were wrong without being harsh. If we had more teachers like Yasmin, the world would definitely be a better place.

Jamal likes Princess a lot but he really needs to control his feelings and stop with his overprotective attitude. They aren’t even in a relationship yet and he upset her because she collected another guy’s complimentary card? Boy, get yourself together!
I am honestly still very confused about why Khalil does not just do his own thing without waiting for Tobi’s help. Tobi treats him so badly, its upsetting. Tobi finally listened to Faa’s song and hooked her up with record label boss, Bada. But guess who was left out? Khalil, of course.

Talking about Faa, my heart sunk when she agreed to have sex with Bada in exchange for help with her new music career. Many women find themselves in tough situations like these almost every time they try to succeed. It’s so disheartening that she had to go through this all over again.

Chike wouldn’t stop pressuring Diana to bring Hadiza along with her to the party so she went ahead and invited the new girl in school and guess what? Hadiza said no! The look on Diana’s face was priceless. Who dare says no to the queen bee? Finally, someone who isn’t afraid of confronting the school bully.

Regardless, Diana succeeded in getting Frances, Leila, Simi and Cynthia to tag along…but it didn’t end well at all. It was a party full of creepy, older men. Fortunately, Leila was able to call Tobi to get them out of there but here’s the scary part…they couldn’t find Frances! She was drugged and taken away by Chike’s friends. I was distraught at that point, I didn’t even know how to act.
