MTV Shuga Naija: Episode 4 Recap

Guess who’s back with her weekly recaps? It’s Adebola Aduwo who’s ready to run you through Episode 4!

Episode 4 of MTV Shuga Naija started with a scene in which Khalil was instructed by Tobi to go get him breakfast. Pause! Why hasn’t Khalil gotten the memo yet? Tobi is gradually turning him into an errand boy and for some reason, he’s still sticking around. Young people who dream of working in the entertainment industry or any industry at all should not wait for anyone’s help. Put in the effort and build yourself a career, don’t let anyone use you while pretending to “help you out.”

That said, who else had their hearts warmed by Faa when she was giving Tare the sex talk? She’s such an amazing big sister! I had a wide smile on my face throughout that scene especially because she did a good job of not making the conversation awkward. I really hope that many people, young and old, learnt one or two things from that conversation. Having the sex talk is even more important than sex itself. A lot of us were left to learn these things on our own. Oh, how times have changed! I look forward to seeing older people imbibe this culture.

While this was happening, our ever sweet Corper Yasmin and the amusing Mrs Olotu finally agreed on something. Thank goodness! She suggested they urge the students to create art on the school wall instead of writing vile things on it. She’s also helping Hadiza with her debate competition while teaching the new student how to use the internet and research her topics. Speaking of Hadiza, she seems like she’s afraid of certain people finding her but we will have to wait to find out who or what she’s running from.

Over to Leila… and Weki too! Yes, they hung out and had a little chat. These two cannot deny that they still have feelings for each other, their chemistry was just popping everywhere! It was really important that Weki reminded Leila not to do anything she’s uncomfortable with just to please anybody.

Speaking of exes, Tobi’s former flame, Princees, finally got some time off ‘adulting’. She went to a club for the first time in months and met a handsome young man. But that’s not even the best part. Tobi saw her from afar and became jealous immediately! I laughed at him, thinking “You don’t even know how to act when you see your ex. You’re not a hard guy anymore?” Hilarious!

Jokes aside, things are looking really serious for our troublesome schoolboys. Wasiu has convinced Ebisinde and Shina to start stealing car-parts so they can make some money. I’m disappointed in Ebisinde especially after he was asked to stay in school. He’s only going to make everything worse than it already is. Sigh!
